Welcome to Pete's Guide to making money from your Internet Webpage. Here you will find details of sponsors who will will pay you to have their banners or advertisments placed on your page. Generally you will be paid for having someone view your page (and thus the advertisment) or for having someone clickon the banner and be taken to the sponsor's page. There are other payments schemes.
Pete's opinion. I reckon it is best to be paid on a pay per view basis, as it can be difficult to get people to click on the ad. Consider two sponsors - one that pays 2c per view and another that pays 10c per click through. At first glance the 10c looks like a great deal but lets say that only 10% of visitors to your page click on a banner. For every thousandvisitors you would get 2c x 1000 = $20 for the first sponsor but only100 x 10c =$10 using the click through sponsor. So weigh up carefully thelikelyhood of click throughs before selecting a sponsor.
Scams Regretably there are a number of 'scam' merchants out there who will try and cheat you in one way or another. But there are plenty of legitimate sponsorstoo. It is a good idea to hunt around the internet, newsgroups and talk to other webmasters to get an idea of whether a sponsor is legitimate or not.Regrettably Warnock's Guide cannot advise for or against any given potentialsponsor. So do your research and like the scouts say - Be prepared. Read theterms and conditions of any contract (before you sign) carefully and when in doubt seek professional advice.
